Avila Beach Homes for Sale

Avila Beach is a small coastal town approximately 10 miles south of San Luis Obispo. It is an ideal place to live for those who want to be near a beach and not too far away from the amenities of a city.

The town has a number of houses with two, three or four bedrooms for sale. Amenities of these houses may include dens and decks. Luxury homes in the town have amenities such as gourmet kitchens and wine cellars. Many houses in Avila Beach have ocean views.

The beach is just one of the attractions in downtown Avila Beach. The town's main beach has places where visitors can sunbathe and swim. It also has picnic tables, a playground, a basketball court and a volleyball court. Fishing is permitted from the Avila Beach Pier. Avila Park is near the beach. A pirate fort play structure, swings, picnic tables and grassy areas make this an ideal place for a family outing. Crabs, sea urchins and many other types of marine life make their homes in the Central Coast Aquarium. 

People can hike or bicycle along the Bob Jones Trail through Avila Beach. The trail winds through gardens and along a stream.

Those who want to combine shopping with a day at the beach will enjoy exploring the shops in Avila Beach near the beach. Avila Beach Grocery is one of these shops.

Shoppers who want to save money on clothing and accessories can head over to the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets approximately 13 miles away.

Families can visit Avila Valley Barn to go on hayrides and visit animals in a petting zoo.

The San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority provides trolley service between Avila Beach and Pismo Beach Premium Outlets. RTA buses travel between the outlet mall and San Luis Obispo. Those who are leaving the area for work or leisure can fly to a few cities from San Luis Obispo Regional Airport approximately 10 miles away or take Amtrak from San Luis Obispo. Travelers can fly to a number of cities from Santa Barbara Airport approximately 90 miles away.

The public schools closest to Avila Beach are in the San Luis Coastal Unified District. There are elementary schools, middle schools and high schools less than 12 miles from Avila Beach.
